We have all been following no doubt the news closely and have learned that Gov. Greg Abbott has deemed that business such as retailers and restaurants, malls and theaters can re-open as early as Friday under conditions set by the governor's task-force. Reports reveal that DFW today has the highest number of current COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began and we are perhaps at the peak of the virus. (1) 'Malls and retailers across Texas can reopen but must keep capacity limited to 25%. But for rural counties with five or less confirmed cases of the new coronavirus, retailers can serve up to 50% of their regular capacity. Areas including food court dining space, play areas and interactive displays must remain closed.' This whole situation has been crippling for the restaurant industry and other small businesses, whilst Texas residents have concerns for health and the well being of others, residents and business owners can also whole heartedly argue that the financial strain has been a pandemic in of it' self. Putt and Plate truly hopes the re-opening will be a positive action economically for Texas as well as a much needed and sure sigh of relief for restaurants and retailers in the area. We will all have concerns as to how this will effect the spread of the virus, indeed how this will effect our near future in fighting the virus. The simple truth is people need to live work and eat. Putt and Plate has been busy with our planning and developments with a view to opening as soon as possible. Our space will be a warm welcoming environment for the community and afar and look forward to gathering with you all soon. Be Safe! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. https://www.texastribune.org/2020/04/28/texas-reopening-restaurants-greg-abbott/
